Ashley Getz, P.E., Associate Director of Engineering for Columbus City Utilities (CCU), recently delivered a presentation titled “Getting Things Done with Alternative Project Delivery,” at the Indiana Chapter of the American Water Works Association (INAWWA) 2025 Water Institute and Equipment Expo conference in French Lick, Indiana.

The session focused on CCU’s use of the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, a form of public-private partnership, which is a collaborative approach to meet the utility’s growing infrastructure improvement needs. Getz provided a real-world perspective on how CCU has leveraged this strategy to accelerate critical projects while managing financial and technical risks.
