Notice is hereby given that City of Columbus Water Utility, Bartholomew County, Indiana, under and pursuant to the Public Service Commission Act, as amended, filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission on or about July 12, 2021, an increase in the schedule of rates and charges for the returned check fee to $40.00, the non-payment disconnect fee to $70.00, the winter disconnect fee to $70.00, the repair disconnect fee to $70.00, and the new residential tap fee to $2,000.00 for increases in costs. The City of Columbus Water Utility has also filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission pursuant to the Public Service Commission Act to add a temporary fire hydrant rental deposit of $1,800.00 and a new residential tap with an existing meter pit fee of $500.00.  The temporary fire hydrant rental deposit, tap fee with existing meter pit, and the increases in these non-recurring charges are applicable to all customers.

The changes in schedules of rates submitted to the Commission are based solely upon the increased costs of materials and labor. The increases in non-recurring fees and the new fire hydrant rental deposit shall apply following final approval by the Commission or August 12, 2021, whichever is later.
