In response to an August 2017 report by WRTV in Indianapolis, that was the result of a report from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) about unsafe levels of an unregulated contaminant, 1,4 dioxane, Columbus City Utilities staff have been working to determine the cause of the pollution and contain it.

A final report is now available.  At this time, there is no detectable level of 1,4 dioxane in the water supply.  Columbus City Utilities is currently and has been in compliance with all state and Federal regulations concerning water safety and will continue to work on compliance at all levels.
